3 challenges - 1 card!

I started making this card for the Just Magnolia challenge this week which is to use 'pink and green'. I also decided to use Bev's sketch over at Stamp with fun to combine 2 challenges. It was only when I had finished the card that I realised it also meets this weeks papertake weekly challenge which is to use 'spots and stripes'. I like it when I can combine challenges as my craft time is limited at present until my uni course is finished (only 12 weeks left!).

This Tilda image was kindly sent to me by a friend. It was only when I'd finished this card that I realised Tilda should be sat on something! Oh well! Coloured with my distress inks. Spotty paper from Papermania and Glittered stripey paper from DCWV Nanna's kids stack. CS from DCWV. CS and DP edges inked with pink ink pad. Scalloped edge created with SU scallop border punch. Pearl adhesive gems added to the scallops. Sentiment is from SU 'Best Yet' set. Flower cheeky flat clip from Making Memories.

The rose is from another Tilda image that I was going to throw away (I'd messed up with Tilda's skin colour) so I salvaged it and added it to this image, I thought it went well with the colours I've used! This was the card before I added the Rose, what do you think? Does it work with the rose added?

Well I am off work this week and have spent the last 2 days doing uni work, made good progress with my final essay yesterday so I'm having a day off today to do some crafting and spend some time with my OH before he goes on nights tonight!

The sun is shining today here, I hope it is wherever you are. Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

My SU makes!

Evening all. Thought I would share with you my goodies that I made at Jules' Roll on Summer workshop that I went to on saturday! I had such a fab time, I would love to go to one every week if I could, although I don't think my finances could take it! :-)

First of all we made this fabulous criss cross card. I wasn't sure of these colours at first, a bit brighter than I usually choose, but I just love them now! This sentiment that I have used in the insert is just so sweet, I love it!

Then we went on to make this tri-fold card. I really enjoyed making this one and will definately try this one again. The background was made by stamping lots of different flower designs using various colours. I loved this technique, so much so that I have bought this flower stamp set, it is called 'simply said'. I can't wait for it to arrive so I can have a play!

Here are a few more pictures with the card open!

After a quick tea break and a yummy bun hand made by Jules' fair hands we went on to decorate a notebook and make a gift bag!

Jules had bought us these fab pink notebooks to decorate. Stamps are from the simply said set, flower, leaf and border strip are all adhesive die cuts from SU and ribbon to finish.

Last but by no means least we decorated these cute white bags from SU to match the cards and notebook we had made. The idea being you could give a co-ordinating card and bag as a gift for someone! The only problem is I love all my makes so much I don't want to give them away!!

Well I know it has been a bit of a long post tonight, but I hope you've all enjoyed having a look at what we made on saturday!

Hope you've all had a great monday, I know the weather has been a bit rubbish, but at least it gives us more time to craft!! :-)

Thanks for stopping by,

Cute Card Thursday - Getting edgy!

This is the card I have made for this weeks cute card thursday challenge where they would like you to either tear, sand, distress or sew the edges of your card.

The image was kindly sent to me by one of my friends over on the do crafts forum. I love her, she looks like she has got so much attitude! She has been coloured with a mixture of my whispers, watercolour pencils and distress inks. CS is coredinations and I have sanded it with an emery board before distressing further with my TimHoltz distress inks to give it that aged look. I then created a faux stitched effect around the edges of the card by piercing holes and joining them up with brown ink. DP is from DCWV christmas stack, sentiment is from the SU 'Best Yet' set, mounted onto a scalloped circle cut with my nesties and added to my card base with 3D foam. To finish I have added a heart embellished flat clip from Making Memories!

Well what a glorious day it is. The sun is shining and I am looking forward to going to Jules' 'Roll on Summer' SU workshop this afternoon. I have been looking at the projects we will be making on her blog and they look fab!

Well I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the lovely sunshine!

Edit - Well I had a wonderful time at Jules' SU workshop this afternoon, made some great projects, met some lovely ladies and had a yummy cupcake that Jules had handbaked herself, thanks Jules! A special hi to Jill as well, thanks for keping me company this afternoon and good luck with dissertation! I will take some pics of the things we made and upload them in the next few days!

Calling all Shoppaholics!

This card would be perfect for most of my friends as we are all shoppaholics, whether it be craft supplies (in my case) or clothes! I am loving Elzybells images, they are so easy to use and colour, yet I think still retain that wow factor!

I have paper pieced the dress on this image and coloured the rest with my whispers and watercolour pencils. DP is form DCWV christmas stack, brown CS has been embossed with spots and dots folder. Legless brads are from craft work cards and the sentiment from SU Best Yet set which I got from the wonderful Jules!

Sorry about the colour of this picture, it looks much brighter and better in the flesh!

Although I've been at work today I've still been able to enjoy the sunshine, thats the beauty of being a district nurse, I get to be out and about all day! Not so good in winter though! :-)

Hope you are all well!

Just Magnolia challenge card!

This is my entry for this weeks Just Magnolia Challenge. Its a new challenge that has just started this week so if you haven't already, pop over and take a look at the fab sketch this week. The DT are absolutely amazing, so much talent within one little blog!

My cards have been quite simple lately so for me this was a bit of a challenge to use more than 2 layers! This tilda image was kindly sent to me by Sarah and I love this Tilda with her sunflower, so thanks Sarah. I coloured her with my whispers and distress inks. CS is coredinations and I have distressd it with my emery board and distress inks, spotty paper is from papermania. I have cut the circle with my nesties, embossed with divine swirls embosing folder and distressed again with inks! Ribbon is from my stash, I think I salvaged it from a box of chocolates?? Flowers are prima; button, thread and charm are from my stash. The sentiment is from a see D set.

Here is a closer view of the flower embellishments and Tilda!

I really enjoyed taking part in this challenge and hope to take part in some more. The only problem is I don't have any Magnolia stamps (I know, don't keel over in shock!) so I will have to rely on the images I have previously been sent. I'm sure they will keep me going for at least a year though! :-)

Well what a glorious day it has been, it really feels like summer is almost here! I hope you have all had a good day and have made the most of the wonderful sunshine!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

Monkey business!

Here is the card I made for my BIL's birthday! I just love this changito birthday image that I got from The Glitter Pot. I have used it so much, paticularly for male birthday cards.

I have coloured the image with my whispers pens and distressed around the edges with my Tim Holtz idtress inks. Paper is from the Basic Grey Granola pad. CS is coredinations. The buttons are from my stash and I have weaved some brown thread throught the centre. Name was created with my Dymo machine. I really like how this card turned out!

I hope you all have a great weekend, what ever you're up to! I'm not working this weekend! Yay! So I'm meeting up with some friends tomorrow night, who I haven't seen for almost 2 years, and then on sunday it's back to the uni work. Only 5 more weeks and then all my course work will be handed in and then my life can return to some sort of normality!

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it!

Lovely Leanne Ellis!

Morning all!
I just adore these leanne ellis design stamps by Sugar Nellie at Funky kits! I wanted to make a card that was different to all the soft pastel colour cards I've been making of late so this is what I came up with!

For this card I have used the 'talking to the birds stamp' and just cut out the girl with my craft knife and added her with 3D foam. Coloured with my whispers pens and a pearl adhesive gem added to the centre of the flower in her hair. CS is coredinations and I have run the red CS through my cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder. Sentiment is from a clear HOTP set. Adhesive star gems are from papermania.

I should be at uni today but I don't have any lectures so am going to have a relaxing day with my wonderful fella before I have to go back to work tomorrow!

Hope you all have a great day whatever you're up to. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave me a comment!

My first WOJ card!

This is a card I have made for my friends birthday, and I used the stamp from the blog candy I won back in February from Bev. It's the only WOJ stamp that I own and I love it, so useful for birthday's and so playful and cute!

The image is 'Henry celebrating Mouse' stamp from WOJ. I coloured him with my whispers pens. Cut out with square nesties. CS is cordinations, spotty paper is a leftover scap that I had from a papermania pack. I made the flower embellishements using offcuts of the CS and paper, punched out with retro flower x-cut punch, distressed with Tim Holtz distress ink and an emery board. Centre's of flowers are legless brads from craftwork cards and I have added glossy accents. Sentiment is from SU Sincere Salutations, cut out with oval nesties and edges distressed with ink!

I hope you're all enjoying your easter BH weekend! I've been at work all weekend and let me tell you it was a nightmare weekend! Oh well, got the day off today for some much needed R & R!

Thanks for popping by!

Easter greetings!

Here is the one and only easter card I have made this year. I've had very little time for crafting lately so I just made the one for my neice who really loves crafting herself, so I thought she would appreciate it! Not really sure that Ducks are considered appropriate easter animals, oh well nevermind!

The image is duck in boots from Sugar Nellie at Funky Kits and I coloured it with my whispers pens. CS is from the coredinations range and the paper is from the Basic Grey 'Offbeat' pad.
Circle for the sentiment cut with my nesties and sentiment created with a mixture of doodlebug rub on's and a see D's sentiment that I have half masked off! Heart gems from papermania!

I spent this afternoon with my family as I am working all weekend. Won't mind so much if the weather stays as rubbish as today! I hope you are all enjoying the BH weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

New Home!

My best friend has recently moved into a new house and so it was the perfect excuse for me to get out my craft stash (in between studying) and make her a card.

The image is from Elzybells and I coloured it with my whispers pens before matting onto yellow & brown CS. The striped paper is from the Basic Grey 'Offbeat' pad. Sentiment was created using doodlebug rub on's. A nice quick and simple card. This seems to be my style of late!

Hope you all enjoyed the sunshine today and are looking forward to the Easter BH weekend, if you're lucky enough not to be working (unfortunately I am!).

'Luvvy'

I adore these Leanne ellis designs! They are adorable and so easy to work with. I got mine from sugar nellie and I can't seem to stop using them!!

My style at the moment has swayed towards more CAS! I love michelle's cards and I find her blog and cards so inspiring!

I have coloured my Leanne ellis 'luvvy' stamped image with my trusty whispers pens, cut her out and mounted onto the spotty DCWV paper with 3D foam. Small pearl adhesive gem added to the flower in her hair. All paper and CS is DCWV. Scalloped circle cut with my nesties. Sentiment from a hero arts acrylic set.

Well I finished one of my essay's yesterday so I am going to have the day off studying today and hopefully do a bit of crafting in between cleaning and food shopping!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend whatever you're up to and enjoy the sunshine!

I just want to say a big thanks to everyone who stops by and leaves me comments, I really enjoy reading them all!
