Gorjuss Sugar Bowl Challenge!

Good morning all. I've had a little lie in this morning after a busy week at work! No major plans for me this weekend. Just going to spend some time with my OH today and then some time to myself tomorrow whilst he's at work. Hoping to get some crafting done, but I just don't seem to have that desire at the minute, which is such a shame because I love my crafting! I don't know what's wrong with me!

Today's card was made for my sister in law's birthday which was tuesday just gone. Both her and my brother (whose birthday it was yesterday) are in London this weekend for a birthday celebration. I chose the sketch over at the Sugar Bowl this week which is by the very talented Kathy and is such an amazing sketch, I will definately be using it again! Make sure you
take a look at this weeks challenge as the winner has the chance of winning 6 Sugar Nellie stamps of their choice from Funky Kits!

As you can see I rotated the sketch to accomodate my image better. I just couldn't resist using one of the older Sugar Nellie images I have. Don't you find that with all the new stash we accquire we seem to neglect our older stash. I just love the gorjuss girls and haven't inked them up in a while so out she came! This image is perfect for my SIL as she adore's cats!

Materials

Image: 'Purrfect Friend' from the Gorjuss Girl collection by Sugar Nellie. Available here at Funky Kits. Coloured with distress inks, koh-i-noors and sansodor.

Paper: Doodlebug (pink paper, sorry don't know the name), SU patterned designer papers in Old Olive

CS: SU Kraft

Sentiment: SU Circle of Friendship

Tools: Nesties, sponges for distressing/inking edges, SU ink pad in pixie pink

Misc: Adhesive pearls from stash

I really enjoyed making this card, and I love this green pink and Kraft colour combo. It works so well together and has a lovely girly feel to it!

I am also going to enter this over at A spoon full of Sugar this week where there challeneg is 'lots of layering'! Believe me, this card involves lots of layering for me! Lol!

Before I forget, there sale is still on at Funky Kits. They have a selection of 10 Sugar Nellie stamps at half price here but hurry it ends at the end of January!

Well thanks for taking the time to stop by and see me today. I hope you all have a lovely weekend, whatever you're up to!

WOJ recipe challenge!

Morning all. This is a scheduled post and is the first time I've done this so I hope it's worked!

This weeks challenge over at Whiff Of Joy is a recipe challenge. We would like to see you use 3 papers, 2 bling and 1 flower on your projects !! Remember there is only 1 Rule you must use a Whiff of Joy Stamp.

The more eagle eyed of you will notice that I have used more ingrediants than what is stated in the recipe. That is because the original recipe was 4 papers, 3 bling and 2 flowers but it got changed after I had already made the card and I unfortunately did not have the time to make another. I have to admit though I did find it difficult to use 4 papers, as most of you know I am more of a CAS gal, but I ma pretty pleased with the overall result! Can you spot the third not so obvious 'bling' though. If you click on the picture you may be able to see it better!!

Materials

Image: Willow with flower basket. Available here from Whiff Of Joy. Coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor.

Paper: MME Wild asparagus

CS: SU Kraft

Sentiment: SU Simply Said set

Tools: SU scalloped oval punch, SU Oval punch, pokey tool

Misc: Flowers from Prima, gem brads from stash

Please go and check out the other DT cards, they are as stunning as ever and I hope you can join in the challenge with us this week at WOJ !

Thanks for stopping by and leaving me comments. I really apreciate them, each and every one!

Hugs, Vicky ~x~

Sweet Mackenzie!

Afternoon all! I've just got in from work after a busy shift and I'm just sitting down for a rest with a nice cuppa.

I have another of the sweet girlies from the Sugar and Spice collection from Sugar Nellie to show you today. I am just loving these cutie pie's!

When I saw this image of Mackenzie she reminded me of Alice in Wonderland, so the colour choice of red and blue was an obvious choice for this card!

Materials

Image: 'Mackenzie' from the Sugar & Spice collection by Sugar Nellie Available here at Funky Kits. Coloured with whispers pens, koh-i-noors and sansodor.

Paper: DCWV Christmas stack

CS:DCWV

Sentiment: See D's celebration messages set

Tools: SU scallop border punch, cropodile, emery board for distressing

Misc: Gingham ribbon from stash.

I really enjoyed making this card. My style is more of the CAS look. I love to be able to see the white base CS on my cards. I don't know what it is, I just can't seem to make the multiple DP layers look work for me. Although I do keep trying it! Lol!

I hope you're all having a good weekend. I'm working again tomorrow, but somehow need to find time to make two birthday cards before monday. A late night tonight I think!

Thanks for stoping by.

Hugs, Vicky ~x~

WOJ Challenge - Janes sketch!

Afternoon all. Sorry the post is late today. I overslept this morning so didn't have the chance to post before work. Ooops! Lol!

We have a wonderful sketch to follow this week over at the Whiff Of Joy Challenge by our very own Jane. Now I don't mind admitting that initially I had a little difficulty with this sketch. But I got there eventually and I really like the final result! But to me that's what crafting is all about. Taking yourself outside of you comfort zone and trying something that you wouldn't ordinarly do!

This card is for my neice's birthday. Now this image is really a christmas image as it usually has holly on the mug. But I have paper peiced the mug and added a little punched out heart. This image is perfect for my neice as she just loves hot chocolate and has one every night before she goes to bed!

Materials

Image: Henry Mouse with Hot Chocolate. Available here from Whiff Of Joy. Coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor.

Paper: K&Co Sparkly Sweet

CS: DCWV

Sentiment: Craftwork cards

Tools: SU scalloped oval punch, SU Oval punch, circle nesties, distressed stripes embossing folder

Misc: Flowers and brad from stash

I hope you can stop by and join us at the WOJ challenge this week. Please stop by and take a look at the other DT creations, they are as amazing as ever!

Just before I go I would like to say a huge thank you to Jules for a fab night last night. I went to her house with 5 other ladies for a SU workshop in her new 'conservatiore'. We spent a lovely 2hours making 4 notlet cards and a little box for them to go in! As soon as I can get some light I will take a picture and show you what we made.

Thanks for stopping by

DT Christening Card!

Morning all! Has anyone else got the post christmas blues?? I've just been feeling a bit blue these past few days, no reason, so assume it must be the lull after all that christmas and new year excitement!!

So to try and pull me out of my slump I have been in my craft room creating up a storm (well not quite, but I have made a few cards!) Lol!

Me & my OH have been invited to a christening next weekend. It's one of my OH's work friends, so it was the perfect opportunity to use one of my new Sugar Nellie DT stamps. I though this Vintage Baby Image was perfect for a christening card, and so easy to colour!

Materials

Image: Vintage Baby from the Home Grown range by Sugar Nellie. Available here from funky kits. Coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor.

Paper: DCWV Glitter Stack

CS: DCWV

Sentiment: Elzybells Everyday Greetings & Everyday Add On's

Tools: SU scalloped border punch, White embossing powder, heat gun

Misc: Gingham ribbon from stash, 3D foam dots

You can't really tell from the picture but I added 3D foam dots to the image for some added dimension to the card. Well I hope they like the card, I'm always a bit stumped wth what to do for a christening card {it's only the 3rd one I've made}.

I hope you all enjoy what is left of your weekend. Another lazy day for me. The football is on TV at lunchtime (Man United V's Leeds, come on Leeds!!) and it's far too cold to be going outside today. It snowed here last night and it's all still on the ground. I don't fancy risking a broken limb, so the craft room it is!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Hugs, Vicky ~x~
