Stampavie and more meets Oakley!

Morning all. Happy Bank Holiday Monday to all those in the UK! What typical bank holiday weather we're having!

My card today is one of the very rare male cards that I make! Lol! I got these stamps by WOJ and couldn't wait to ink them up! I used the sketch over at Stampavie and more this week. I so love the CAS look, although I have to say I'm not 100% happy with this card. There's just something not right with it but I can't decide what!

Materials:

Image: Oakley with slipover and tree stump both from the WOJ Spring 2009 collection, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: Hopskotch from K & Co

CS: from stash

Sentiment: Studio G 99p set

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties, EK Success border punch - dotted wave

Well I hope you're all having a fab Bank Holiday, only 1 day left then it's back to work! I start my new job tomorrow and am starting to get really nervous! Fingers crossed everthing goes ok!

I would like to extend a big thank you to everyone who has left such lovely comments on my wedding pics, glad you enjoyed looking at them!

Have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

Wedding Pics!!

Afternoon all. Just got home, unpacked and been food shopping so thought I would hop on here and share a few of the wedding pics with you! I apologise for my photography skills or lack of them. I don't have the best camera anyway but my photography is not that great either!

Here is my younger brother with his beautiful bride just after the ceremony!

Here they are again with their daughter.

The whole family together. My older brother, my dad, me, my younger brother {the groom} and my mum! Someone had just said something funny, hence why we are all laughing / smiling!

I love this picture of me and my brother and will cherish it as we don't have many pictures together.

This one is of my mum's lifelong friend who came up from portsmouth, me and my mum at the reception.

Here is a picture of me and my wonderful fiance! These pics are very rare as we normally just take one of each other, we don't like pestering others to take our pics! Lol!

My brother and SIL, in fact our whole family just LOVE cheese! So, they had a cheese cake, with crackers & biscuits! It was yummy!!

Lastly, I just want to share with you the two little mice that were in the top of the cake. My brother and SIL's 10 year old little girl Millie made these little cuties form Fimo. They really were adorable!

Well that's all from me. I hope I haven't bored you all too much with my family pics. Believe me, there are plenty more I could have shown but I think that's more than enough for today! Lol!
I will be visiting you all this afternoon to see what you've all been up to since I last visited!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you're all having a wonderful BH weekend!

Hugs, Vicky ~x~

A Wonderful Wedding!

Afternoon all!

Just a quick post today as I ahve snuck onto my mum's computer. I will be home tomorrow hopefully with some pics to uplaod.

Well what a wonderful and beautiful day we had yesterday. Although at one point I though we might actually miss the ceremony. We were stuck in traffic on the A1 due to an accident and a journey that should have taken 45 minutes ending up taking 2 hours. We checked into the hotel and I had 20 minutes to get ready! Luckily I had already done my hair and I managed to put most of my makeup on in the car whilst we were stood still on the A1!! Lol!

There had been so much rain in the morning, but the ceremony started at 2.30 and then we went to a local stately home for photographs and the sunshine was out in full force! Someone must have been looking over us because as soon as we got back for the reception it started bucketing it down again. It was a beautiful wedding, plenty of tears , especially during the speeches.

I am staying at my mums until tomorrow. There are about 25 of us going out to our favourite curry house tonight and then my brother and his new wife head off to the Maldives for 2 weeks! Lucky them!

I love spending time with the family and it's been such a special weekend so far!

Hope you're all having a lovely BH weekend and I'll be back tomorrow with some pics to show you!

Hugs, Vicky ~X~

My brothers 'New Beginning'!

Morning all! Well today is the day, its my brothers wedding! I'm so excited! The only fly in the ointment is the bloomin weather, looks like rain. I just hope it stays fine enough for the photographs! Anyway today's card is rather apt, it is the wedding card I have made for my brother and his new wife and I am entering it into this weeks challenge over at Cute Card Thursday, which is 'New Beginnings'.

I adore this Cute Hangler & Stangler image and though it was perfect for their card. I have used the swiss dots folder as my new sister inlaw loves it and has used it for her place and table settings, so I though it would fit the theme nicely.

Materials:

Image: Hangler & Stangler that I bought from e-bay, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

CS: from stash

Sentiment: SU Congrats set

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties, cuttlebug swiss dots embossing folder, simply said SU stamp set (heart embellishment), whispers pen for creating shadow

Misc: pearl brads from papermania, glitter glue

I decorated the inside as well with a pocket to put some money in and the sentiment 'Welcome to the wedded bliss club' which is also from the SU Congrats stamp set.

I just have a little story to share with you to prove that crafting supplies havea multitude of uses. I caught my OH in my craft room yesterday with my whispers pens. When I asked him what he was doing he turned around for me to see him colouring in the front of his shoe with a tan coloured pen. He had applied some super glue to the toe section of sole that had been coming away and it had left a small white mark. So he had got a whispers pen that corresponded in colour and 'voila' a perfect shoe with no marks! It sure made me chuckle!

Well that's all for me today. I will be in Doncaster with my family until sunday so I apologise in advance for not being around. I promise I will catch up with you all on sunday and I will hopefully have some wondeful wedding pics to share with you all!

Thanks for stopping by today and taking the time to leave me a comment. I really appreciate your support and encouragement!

Hugs, Vicky ~x~

Good Luck Anya!

Morning all! What a rubbish day it is! Pouring down with rain and wet and miserable. So today's card is the perfect tonic. Lovely and bright to cheer us all up! I haven't used my Anya's in what feels like ages so though I would get her out and ink her up! I used my favourite out of the Teen Anya set to make a good luck card for a friend who is starting a new job. Not traditional colours for a good luck card but what the heck, I wanted to be a bit different!

Materials:

Image: from the Teen Anya set by The Greeting Farm, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: Junebug From Baisc Grey and MME Bloom and Grow

CS: DCWV

Sentiment: See D's celebration messages set

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties

Misc: adhesive pearls, glitter glue {on her shoes}, ribbon all from stash

I am entering this card into three of this weeks challenges. I have followed the sketch by Dawny P over at Papertake Weekly and am also going to enter it at Cute Card Thursday as the colours I've used are lovely and summery! After a heads up by Dawny P I am also entering it into this weeks Anyone for Anya challenge whose theme is Sugar & Spice and All Things Nice! Thanks Dawny!!

I had a bit of a sad day yesterday as it was my last day at work before starting my new job next week. I will really miss working with all the girls and they were so lovely getting my lots of lovely leaving presents! It's the end of an era, but also the start of another. So I now have a week off until I start my new job, plenty of crafty time and looking forward to the wedding on friday, although I hope the weather stays fine. Even if it's just whilst the photographs have been taken!

Oooh before I forget pop over to the Sugar Nellie blog and take a look a some of the sneak peeks of the new christmas manga stamps that will be released in September.

Here's one of the little cuties to whet your appetite! I think she's my favourite so far!

Well have a great day everybody try not to get too wet! Lol!

Thanks for stopping by to say hi!

Hugs, Vicky ~x~

Just Magnolia for Christmas!

Morning all. Hope you have all had a fantastic weekend! I have a card for you this morning that I managed to make over the weekend despite working! Apologies for the poor lighting, it's rather dull this morning!

I am entering this card into three of this weeks challenges. I have followed the fabulous sketch by Rach over at Just Magnolia, Simon Says Stamp wants to see Christmas in August and over at Papertake Weekly to celebrate their 100th anniversary you can choose your favourite challenge, so I have chosen Seeing Spots (05/01/09), I just love those spots and dots! Lol!

Well another christmas card done and in my christmas box! I attempted to go for a vintagey, distressed feeling with this card, not sure I've done it as well as some of you out there but it's different from my usual CAS style and I like it! I got some new christmas papers recently and thought this was the perfect opportunity to use them.

Materials:

Image: Winter Tilda, from Magnolia {sent to me by a friend}, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: Plum Pudding from Craftwork Cards

CS: DCWV Christmas Stack

Sentiment: Craftwork Cards

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties, silicone glue, emery board, cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder, x-cut snowflake punch

Misc: pearl brad, white foam, glitter glue from stash

Well I hope you like it! Best get ready for work now. Busy week for me this week. I only have today and tomorrow to work then I leave my job as I start my new job on 1st September. I've got a promotion to District Nursing Sister following my 2 year Masters degree that I have been doing. Bit nervous, but excited at the same time! Then on friday my baby brother gets married and I am sooooo excited, I can't wait! My outfit is all sorted I just need to start the beauty regime now! Lol!

Have a great day everyone and I'll be back later after work to see what you've all been up to!

Thanks for stopping by to say hi!

Sending You Hugs & Kisses!

Morning all. The sun is shining and it looks like it will be a beautiful day here in West Yorkshire. Unfortunately I have to work this weekend though, so not much crafting going on for me!

Today's card is for this weeks Sugar Bowl challenge where there is a wonderful sketch by Judy to follow. Make sure you head over and take a look as there is a wonderful prize of a new release set of autumn Sugar Nellie stamps which are not even yet for sale at funky kits!

I just love these cute images by Leanne Ellis and I haven't used this 'Luvvy' image for a while so though I'd ink her up again! The please incude element over at The Sugar Bowl Challenge is to use homemade flowers. I though these MME papers were perfect and I cut out the flowers before inking the edges and adding little buttons to the centers!

Materials:

Image: Luvvy by Leanne Ellis, available at Funky Kits, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: MME Bloom and Grow

CS: Coredinations

Sentiment: Created using everydays greetings & everyday add on's clear stamps from Elzybells

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties {out of bounds technique}, silicone glue

Misc: cappucino half pearl, flowers cut from MME paper, buttons form stash

I really enjoyed making this card. I seem to be using lots of summery colours lately, probably hoping it will affect the weather! Lol! Well I hope you like today's card. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs, Vicky ~x~

Sweet Wonderful You!

Morning all! Well what miserable weather we have here in Leeds today, oh well perfect day to spend in my craft room then! Lol! Apologies in advance for the photo quality today, the light is pretty poor this morning. Where's the sun when you need it!

I accquired some WOJ stamps from the lovely Linda this week {thanks hun!} and I couldn't wait to ink them up. I only own one other WOJ stamp which is Henry the mouse so it is lovely to expand my collection!

This card also meets with two of this weeks challenges. I have followed the wonderful sketch by Rach over at Whiff Of Joy {I have flipped it upside down } and I also incorporated the theme of spots, dots and circles over at Creative Inspirations. Does anyone else do this? I had a picture in mind of what my finished card would look like, and this wasn't it! I am a little dissapointed with this card and I'm not really 100% sure I like it all that much. Oh well, whats done is done now, maybe it'll grow on me! Lol!

Materials:

Image: Willow with flowers from Whiff Of Joy, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: Basic Grey Lemonade

Sentiment: from Magnolia summer kit

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties

Misc: Half Pearls, white organza ribbon from stash

Well that's all for me today folks. It's my DO today and my OH is in bed as he's on nights. So I think a quick trip to my local craft shop is called for before doing a bit of blog hopping and then some time in my craft room this afternoon!

Thanks for stopping by to say hi!

Hugs, Vicky ~x~

Three in one!

Morning all! I hope you are all enjoying your week so far?! Today's card meets with 3 of this weeks challenges. There are so many challenges and so little time I find I have to combine more and more challenges these days! I eventually got around to using some of my new BG papers for this card. I have had these new Junebug papers a few months now and didn't think I was too keen on the vibrant patterns, but I love the combination of these papers on this card.

I have used the fabulous sketch over at Friday Sketchers this week, I loved using this one and will definately use it again! It also meets with the challenge this week over at Stamp Something, which is summer and this weeks Just Magnolia Challenge which is friendship. I have made this card to give to my Best Friend, not for any particular reason, just beacause. Nothing says summer more to me than vibrant colours {especially red, I LOVE it!}, flowers and ladybugs, I just adore them! I hope she likes it!

Materials:

Image: Tilda with Ladybug and flowers background, both from Magnolia, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: Basic Gray JuneBug

CS: from stash

Sentiment: Circle of Friendship set from SU

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties {out of bounds technique},

Misc: Pearl brad, adhesive red pearl & flowers from stash, distressed stripes cuttlebug folder, red dew drops from stash

Well I hope you like today's card. I have to say I am particularly please with how it's turned out! For all of you who have asked, yes I did manage to get my wedding outfit sorted on sunday, I got a clutch bag and fascinator, so thats my outfit all sorted now! Thank goodness!

Thanks for stopping by today, please leave me a comment so I know you have been!

Gorjuss PapertakeWeekly

Morning all! I apologise in advance for YES, I have used another gorjuss girl for today's card! I just adore these images, so sweet, girly and versatile! I don't think I will ever tire of using them!

I have used the sketch over at Papertake Weekly this week which is by the fabulous Dawny P. I loved using Dawny's sketches, they never have too many embellies or are too complicated. I love her CAS style!

Papers: MME Bloom & Grow

CS: Coredinations

Well that's it from me this morning, short and sweet. I've got to shoot off now to the sunday market and then probably into Leeds to do a bit of wedding outfit shopping. My brother gets married in less than 2 weeks now and both me & my OH still need a few bits for our outfits. I'll be back later though for a bit of blog hopping to see what you've all been up to! Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

Thanks for stopping by to say hi!

This little cutie is ' Purrfect Friend'{I have masked off the cat} and she is available to buy individually or as part of set 1 from funky kits. The flowers aren't part of this gorjuss image, I masked off the image before stamping the flowers behind her!

CS: Coredinations

A 'Very Nellie Christmas' for the Sugar Bowl.

There is a wonderful sketch over at The Sugar Bowl this week by the uber talented Marlene and I am just in the nick of time with this one as it ends today! I did make this card last week before I went away but have just forgot to post it!

I really enjoyed using this sketch as it's not too complicated or fussy and it gave me the perfect opportunity to get out one of my older Sugar Nellie stamps, the gorgeous Nellie with Crocheted hat and scarf, still available form Funky Kits. I almost forgot the include option of 'doodling' but I managed to doodle a frame around the image, saving my bacon. I should learn to pay more attention to the finer details! Lol! Another christmas card to add to my box!

Materials:

Image: Crocheted Hat and Scarf Nellie From Sugar Nellie, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: MME Wild Asparagus, BG Wassail

CS: Coredinations

Sentiment: SU Best Yet set

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties, SU scalloped border punch, x cut snowflake punch

Misc: Half pearls & pearl brads from stash, flower I bough from Julie's etsy shop {thanks Julie}

Well I hope you are all having a lovely week. I'm finding it a bit of a challenge getting back into work mode after 9 days off and I'm soooo tired! I had an early night last night, {9pm} so hopefully I will feel a bit fresher today!

Thanks for stopping by. Please leave me a comment so I know you have been!

You're so sweet!

Morning all. Well I am back with a card to show you and I have to say I am feeling so much better today, other than the fact that it's back to work for me today after my time off work! Today's card meets with a few of this weeks challenges. At Papertake weekly they want to see your creations using a season theme, I've chosen summer. Over at Tuesday Taggers and A Spooon Full of Sugar this week they want to see flowers on your creation.

Nothing says summer more to me than strawberries, I love to go strawberry picking. These Magnolia summer kit stamps are just so adorable, this is the first time I have used the strawberry, and I have sat my spring Tilda on them. My OH asked if Tilda was a little person as he said that this was the biggest strawberry he'd ever seen! Lol! He does say some funny things about my cards sometimes! Before you all start wondering where my flowers are on this creation, I know I haven't added any flower embellishements to my card but the DP is covered in pretty flowers and there are flowers in the image! I had a bit of a mishap with my strawberry in the top right corner. I inked the strawberry image with my whispers pens before stamping. I added glossy accents afterwards and it has made my image bleed slightly so you can't see the seed effect. Oh well you live and learn from your mistakes! Lol!

Materials:

Image: Spring Tilda sat on stawberry from this years summer kit, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: MME Wild Asparagus, DCWV Christmas Stack

CS: Coredinations

Sentiment: Magnolia {from the summer kit}

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties, whispers pens

Misc: Red adhesive half pearls from papermania, Gingham ribbon from stash

Well I arrived home yesterday to a lovely package from Sarah's cards. I've ordered a yummy new EK Success border punch which I've had my eye on for ages and some dew drops in various colours. I think that's what I'll be playing with tonight when I get in from work! I also found a little craft shop in Melton Mowbray whilst we were away and bought some scrummy doodlebug papers that were in the sale, so no doubt you'll be seing them sometime soon as well! Lol!

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who has given me awards lately. I have been a bit rubbish and haven't got around to displaying them yet. There just doesn't seme to be enough hours in the day, I will do my best to sort them out over the next few days though!

Have a great day everyone, hope your week gets off to a great start!

Hugs, Vicky ~x~

I'm back but feeling a little fragile!

I got back from my pampering break with my mum yesterday. We had a wonderful, relaxing time and we are already planing our next trip! :-) But it was a quick turn around as I was out for my sister in law to be's hen night last night. I stayed over at my mum & dads in Doncaster last night so I have had to drive back home to Leeds this afternoon feeling a little green around the gills!
I fear I am not fit for much today so no card to show you yet, sorry! If I manage to get myself together I will be back later to show you a card, otherwise I will be back tomorrow! Please forgive me if it takes me a while to catch up with your blogs.

I hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather we're having this weekend!

Hugs, Vicky ~x~

Gorjuss double challenge!

Good morning all. I hope you are all keeping well. I am half way through my week off work and am thoroughly enjoying my time off! Lot's of time to craft! :-)

Today's card meets with two of this weeks challenges. I have used the sketch from SCSC and over at Stamp Something the challenge is paper piecing.

I absolutley love paper piecing and don't do it often enough, so this was the perfect opportunity for me! I thought this floral paper was perfect for her dress, just the right size flowers. I also adapted the gorjuss girl image slightly and left out the cat. I love how you can get many different images out of just one stamp.

Materials:

Image: Purrfect Friend from Gorjuss Girl set 1, also available to buy singularly from funky kits, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: Basic Grey, Eva

Sentiment: Studio G

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties

Misc: Adhesive half pearls from stash

Well I think this will be the last post from me until I return from my relaxing break on sunday, so forgive me if I am MIA for a few days. I will catch up with you all on my return home!
I am off to the hairdressers this morning, another treat for me on my week off! I call it a treat as I haven't been for 8 months! I know, it's a long time, but I have very long hair so I can get away without visiting the hairdressers as often. 8 months is pushing it a bit though! Lol!

Have a great day everyone and enjoy the rest of your week!

A spoon full of winter wonderland!

If you haven't already guessed today's card has been made for 2 of this weeks challenges. I have followed the 'winter wonderland' theme this week over at Winter Wonderland {I haven't used their optional sketch though} and I have followed this weeks sketch over at A Spoon Full of Sugar {and I have rotated their sketch anti clockwise}.

I just adore this image. I bought him last year and can see me getting many years use out of this one! I know we're only in August and I'm already showing you christmas cards, but I left them until the last minute last year and so I wanted to get a head start on them this year. I also have lots of general birthday / thank you cards in my box that I still have to use / sell but still want to enter into the weekly challenges, so though making christmas cards was the perfect opportunity. Most of my christmas stash is up in the loft though, so I am having to make do and mend with what I can find in my craft room. Must send my OH up there soon to get it down! Lol!
I don't know if you can pick it up if you click on the picture but I have added glossy accents to the reindeers nose and snowtex to the ground to give that textured snow effect. I love adding this to my christmas cards!

Materials:

Image: Reindeer and star from Elzybells, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: DCWV chrsitmas stack {several years old}

CS: DCWV

Sentiment: SU Best Yet set

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties

Misc: glossy accents, snowtex, ribbon & star brad from my stash, card candy from craft work cards

Well I hope you like today's offering, please leave me a comment so I know you have been!

Only 2 days until I go off on my pampering break with my mum. I'm trying to get as much crafting done as I can before I leave as I know I will have craft withdrawl whilst I am gone. I am even considering taking some images with me to colour. Is that a bit sad?! If you have never been to Ragdale Hall take a look here, it is just the best place to go and relax!

Triple Tilda challenge!

Good morning all! The sun is shining and I hope it will stay that way! I think we had more than enough rain yesterday! The card I have to show you today is one I managed to make yesterday and it meets with 3 of this weeks challenges. Well I though I had better get my thinking cap on as I won't be here for 4 days this week so I want to get as many challenges done as I possible before I leave! I am entering it into this weeks Just Magnolia, whose challenge is distressing, Colour Create, where you have to use the colours Orange, Pink and Green and I have used the sketch from Friday Sketchers, although I have rotated the sketch clockwise {so I hope it counts!}.

I have used these gorgeous new stamps from the magnolia Summer kit, the first time I have inked these two up! I think she is just so sweet in her bathing suit, dipping her toes in the water! She must be somewhere abroad as we certainly haven't got the weather for it here in the UK at the minute!
I'm slowly getting used to this distressing technique {I'm usually more of a CAS gal} and have distressed around the image and paper edges with my sponge and distress inks. I also distressed the paper and CS lightly with an emery board. This is about as distressed as I can get! Lol!

Materials:

Image:
Tilda and rubber ring from the Summer Kit, coloured with koh-i-noors and sansodor

Papers: MME Bloom & Grow

CS: Coredinations

Flowers: Acrylic Flowers from Making Memories, hand punched with retro punches

Pearls: Papermania brad, Hobby House pearl gems

Sentiment: Studio G

Tools: distress inks, sponge, nesties, retro flower punches

Misc: button, pink thread from my stash

Well I spent most of yesterday in my craft room, I had a lovely day in my own little world and got lots done! Unfortunately I also have a very sore left index finger this morning, lets just say there was a craft knife and lots of blood involved! It's the first time in 3 years that I've had an accident like this whilst crafting, it must have been because I was so engrossed in what I was doing! Lol!

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! I'm planning on heading back to my craft room for a few more hours again today, although I do have a few house chores to get done today as well! Boo hiss!

Thanks for stopping by to say hi!

Hugs, Vicky ~x~
