Dad - You're a star!

This is the card I have made for my dad for fathers day. I know, I'm being quite organised! :-)
It also meets 2 of this weeks challenges as I have used the sketch from Sketch Saturday and it also meets the animal antics theme for papertake weekly.

This is my favourite stamp to use for male cards and has definately been a wise investment! Coloured with my distress inks. I paperpieced the sign they are showing and used Doodlebug rub on's for 'dad'. All DP is from the BG Granola pad. Blue CS is coredinations. I ran the strip of paper at the bottom through the cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder before distressing with an emery board to make the white spots pop! Sentiment created with my dymo machine {also a favourite of mine on male cards}. The stars are handmade. Inner stars punched out from Granola paper and matted onto handcut white stars, with a little brown ink around the edges!

I quite enjoyed making this card, which is surprising as I usually HATE making male cards. Only because I'm usually stumped as to what to do without my cute girly images, sparkle and flowers! Lol!

Hope everyone is well. Just sat with my OH watching Leeds United in the play offs. They are currently one goal down! Please let them score another goal otherwise my life won't be living if they have to stay in league 1 for another year! :-)

First Miss Anya card!

Well I couldn't wait to delve into my stamps and start playing with these yesterday so this is the card I made with them last night. This is what I call a just because card, I didn't follow any sketch or challenge and made it 'just because'!

I coloured Anya in with my distress inks {adding a little pink and sparkle for her eyeshadow!} and then cut her out and made a frame with my curved rectangle nesties. It wasn't until I'd finished this card that I realised I haven't used any DP! The CS is from DCWV and I have embossed the green CS with the swiss dots folder! Scalloped edge created with my SU scalloped border punch and holes added with my cropodile. The sentiment is a papermania freebie (with this edition of creativity) matted onto a scalloped circle cut with my nesties. Flower is from prima and the sparkly flower in the center was part of my blog candy that I won several months ago from Bev!

I also want to deidicate this card to Bev. If you are a regular to her blog you will have noticed that she creates a lot of pink and green cards, but has recently announced she is taking a break from this colour combo, so Bev, this one's for you!! :-)

Well I have thoroughly enjoyed playing with my Miss Anya's so far, I wonder when I'll get bored of them! NEVER!! Lol!

Papertake weekly challenge - Dawny's sketch!

Morning all! I have just come to upload this card I made using papertake weekly's challenge sketch and have realised it ended yesterday and there is now a new challenge! Durrr, I really don't know where my brain is these days! Well here it is anyway, better late than never!

The cupcake image and sentiment is from Inkadinkado and I have paper peiced the cupcake before adding a legless brad {from craftwork cards} for the topping! Glossy accents to the 'topping' and glamour dust to the cupcake frosting! DP are from papermania 'sweet nothings' range. CS is DCWV.

Well I have been busy creating a little box to keep my stamped images in this morning. I got the idea from Kerry who posted her's yesterday with the tutorial link. I love it and will be showing you it really soon {if I share it today I'll have nothing to show you next time!} :-), so thanks for the tip Kerry!

Well I'm off now for a run and then I'm going into Leeds to do a bit of shopping!

Hugs, Vicky x

Update! My Anya stamps have just landed on my doorstep!! Yay, I am so excited. I've wanted some of these for ages but everywhere was sold out! I ended up getting them from Canada from a seller on e-bay. With my 10% discount voucher that e-bay was giving away last week they only cost my £11.48 for the set and that's including p&p! They only took 5 days to come which I thinks fantastic!! So watch this space for the enslaught of Miss Anya cards that are now going to follow! :-)

Colour Create Challenge!

This is the card I've made for this weeks Colour Create Challenge where the challenge is to use the colours blue and green with the added option of using some paper piecing on your project.

This Maggie with flowers image (by sugar nellie at funky kits) was my first ever stamp purchase and is still one of my favourites! Coloured with my distress inks and I paper pieced her dress with this gorgeous spotty paper from the DCWV christmas paper stack. CS is coredinations. Scalloped edge was created with my SU border punch and holes added with my cropodile. The sentiment is a papermania freebie with this edition of creativity magazine. Flower is from prima with a home made one to match the spotty paper, pearl brad to finish!

Now this card is more like it, and I am much happier with it than my last one! Back in my comfort zone! :-)

Well I hope you have all had a great weekend. I'd better get off and start preparing for work in the morning! Got an early 7.15 start! I'm still going to try and have a little hop around though before bed and see what you've all been up to!

Vintage Baby Card!

I was inspired to make this card after reading an article in this months Craft Stamper magazine. The very Talented Kim Costello made some beautiful cards using only black and white or sepia images! So although this isn't my usual style (I prefer clean simple lines) I though I would give it a go and this is what I came up with!

The image is Baby Millie from Sugar Nellie at Funky Kits and I coloured her with my Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink. I really went to town distressing the edges of the image as well, adding a bit of creasing and little rips to make it look a little more tattered! DP is from Cosmo Crickets Jitterbug range which I got from QVC ages ago and have only just used! Background DP is from BG Sugared pad and I have embossed it with the swiss dots folder. Scalloped edge created with my SU punch and holes added with my cropodile. Sentiment is from a HOTP clear set. Flower made from die cuts also from CC Jitterbug pack and pearl brad added to the center.

Well it was a real challenge for me to make this card and let me tell you it didn't come easy! But I suppose that's what crafting is all about, being able to try different styles. The jury is still out on this card though. Not entirely convinced I like it, so not sure I will be trying this style again in the near future. I think C & S is the way forward for me! :-)

I just want to say a huge thank you to all of you lovely ladies (and the occasional man!) who takes the time to visit my blog and leave me such lovely comments, they are so very much appreciated. I can't believe my 1st blogoversary in fast approaching in a few weeks and I have recieved over 13,000 hits in this time so thank you very much. Watch this space as I will be getting together some blog candy very shortly by way of a celeration and to say a big thankyou!

Hope you're all having a lovley weekend, whatever you're up to!

Quick and simple card!

Here is a quick and simple card I made using the off cuts of paper from my last card! I love this paper so much I had to use every scrap of it up! :-)

The image is from the new Smirk range by Dovecraft, the Love and Friendship clear set. Coloured in with my whispers pens. I saw these stamps in papercraft essentials last month and had to give them a go! Cute and simple! The sentiment is also from Smirk. The papers are off cuts from the last card I made, from the papermania retro floral pack, I distressed the edges of the paper with my craft knife! CS used to matt is from the coredinations range. The three blue pearl adhesive gems are from papermania.

I enjoyed using these stamps and I think they are so handy for quick, cute cards! I hope you like it??

I've been a busy bee today! I should have been in uni but I had directed study so I spent all day preparing a powerpoint presentation that I have to give to my team at work next week. I even managed to add some pictures to the slides which I was really proud of myself for (I'm a bit of a technophobe when it comes to powerpoint!)! I hope it makes the grade as it counts for 20% of my final mark!

I hope you're all well. Thanks for visiting and for any comments you may leave, I really appreciate each and every one of them!

Missed the boat with this one!

Evening all! This card was inspired by a challenge over at stampin chic a couple of weeks ago. However, me being me I missed it! The theme was to you use turquoise and yellow.

As soon as I saw the colour theme I knew which paper I was going to use! I adore this spotty paper, it is from the papermania retro floral pack. CS is coredinations. The image is from Elzybells, I've coloured it with my whispers and have added glitter to follow the bee's trail! Sentiment is from a Studio G mini clear set which I have paper pieced. Ribbon is from Dovecraft.

Well it was back to work for me today after 10 days off! No easy task believe me but it was made a lot easier when I found out my SU stash had arrived from Julie. I can't wait to have a play with my new stamp set that I got 'Simply Said'.

I hope that you are all well and enjoyed your BH weekend, plenty of time for crafting what with the rubbish weather!

Thanks for stoppping by!

Birthday card for my H2B!

This is the birthday card I gave to my hubbie to be yesterday. I think he was more impressed with the money that was inside it, but then that's men for you right?? :-)

I am also entering it into this weeks A spoon Full of Sugar challenge which is to use blue and green.

The image is Chef Hamish by Sugar Nellie at Funky kits. He is just perfect for male birthday card I think!I have coloured him in with my trusty whispers pens, I added a sliver gel pen over the whisk to make it look more authentic! Lol! I also added a tear drop shaped adhesive gem for the candle flame. I cut him out and mounted with 3D foam. Circles cut with my nesties, embossed with spots and dots folder and distressed with an emery board to reveal the inner core colour. DP is from K&Co Hopskotch pad. Sentiment is from a See D's set.

I also quickly decorated the inside with a little sentiment from the SU 'congrats' set (I masked off the 'on' that was before the rest of the sentiment). Cut out with the curved rectangle nestie shapes. He smiled when he read this sentiment! Bless him!

On the left hand side of the card I made a simple pocket with co-ordinating Hopskotch paper to hold the money!
Well that's all from me today. My mum has just gone home and I need to think about starting tea now ready from my OH coming home from work!

Hope you're all having a great day!

Hugs, Vicky x

Sorry I've been MIA....

... for the past few days. It was my better half's birthday yesterday so we have had some time off the last few days to celebrate. We went to Alton Towers on friday and spent time with friends and family yesterday, then rounded a fab few days off with a yummy curry last night!

Just a quick post as I'm off to the White Rose for a few hours to indulge in my other passion, clothes shopping!! Then my mum has just phoned and said she's coming round for a few hours this afternoon so we will probably be getting a bit crafty!

Hope to pop back again later with a card to show you all!

Enjoy the rest of your bank holiday, hope the sun is shining where you are!

3 challenges - 1 card!

I started making this card for the Just Magnolia challenge this week which is to use 'pink and green'. I also decided to use Bev's sketch over at Stamp with fun to combine 2 challenges. It was only when I had finished the card that I realised it also meets this weeks papertake weekly challenge which is to use 'spots and stripes'. I like it when I can combine challenges as my craft time is limited at present until my uni course is finished (only 12 weeks left!).

This Tilda image was kindly sent to me by a friend. It was only when I'd finished this card that I realised Tilda should be sat on something! Oh well! Coloured with my distress inks. Spotty paper from Papermania and Glittered stripey paper from DCWV Nanna's kids stack. CS from DCWV. CS and DP edges inked with pink ink pad. Scalloped edge created with SU scallop border punch. Pearl adhesive gems added to the scallops. Sentiment is from SU 'Best Yet' set. Flower cheeky flat clip from Making Memories.

The rose is from another Tilda image that I was going to throw away (I'd messed up with Tilda's skin colour) so I salvaged it and added it to this image, I thought it went well with the colours I've used! This was the card before I added the Rose, what do you think? Does it work with the rose added?

Well I am off work this week and have spent the last 2 days doing uni work, made good progress with my final essay yesterday so I'm having a day off today to do some crafting and spend some time with my OH before he goes on nights tonight!

The sun is shining today here, I hope it is wherever you are. Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

My SU makes!

Evening all. Thought I would share with you my goodies that I made at Jules' Roll on Summer workshop that I went to on saturday! I had such a fab time, I would love to go to one every week if I could, although I don't think my finances could take it! :-)

First of all we made this fabulous criss cross card. I wasn't sure of these colours at first, a bit brighter than I usually choose, but I just love them now! This sentiment that I have used in the insert is just so sweet, I love it!

Then we went on to make this tri-fold card. I really enjoyed making this one and will definately try this one again. The background was made by stamping lots of different flower designs using various colours. I loved this technique, so much so that I have bought this flower stamp set, it is called 'simply said'. I can't wait for it to arrive so I can have a play!

Here are a few more pictures with the card open!

After a quick tea break and a yummy bun hand made by Jules' fair hands we went on to decorate a notebook and make a gift bag!

Jules had bought us these fab pink notebooks to decorate. Stamps are from the simply said set, flower, leaf and border strip are all adhesive die cuts from SU and ribbon to finish.

Last but by no means least we decorated these cute white bags from SU to match the cards and notebook we had made. The idea being you could give a co-ordinating card and bag as a gift for someone! The only problem is I love all my makes so much I don't want to give them away!!

Well I know it has been a bit of a long post tonight, but I hope you've all enjoyed having a look at what we made on saturday!

Hope you've all had a great monday, I know the weather has been a bit rubbish, but at least it gives us more time to craft!! :-)

Thanks for stopping by,

Cute Card Thursday - Getting edgy!

This is the card I have made for this weeks cute card thursday challenge where they would like you to either tear, sand, distress or sew the edges of your card.

The image was kindly sent to me by one of my friends over on the do crafts forum. I love her, she looks like she has got so much attitude! She has been coloured with a mixture of my whispers, watercolour pencils and distress inks. CS is coredinations and I have sanded it with an emery board before distressing further with my TimHoltz distress inks to give it that aged look. I then created a faux stitched effect around the edges of the card by piercing holes and joining them up with brown ink. DP is from DCWV christmas stack, sentiment is from the SU 'Best Yet' set, mounted onto a scalloped circle cut with my nesties and added to my card base with 3D foam. To finish I have added a heart embellished flat clip from Making Memories!

Well what a glorious day it is. The sun is shining and I am looking forward to going to Jules' 'Roll on Summer' SU workshop this afternoon. I have been looking at the projects we will be making on her blog and they look fab!

Well I hope you all have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the lovely sunshine!

Edit - Well I had a wonderful time at Jules' SU workshop this afternoon, made some great projects, met some lovely ladies and had a yummy cupcake that Jules had handbaked herself, thanks Jules! A special hi to Jill as well, thanks for keping me company this afternoon and good luck with dissertation! I will take some pics of the things we made and upload them in the next few days!

Calling all Shoppaholics!

This card would be perfect for most of my friends as we are all shoppaholics, whether it be craft supplies (in my case) or clothes! I am loving Elzybells images, they are so easy to use and colour, yet I think still retain that wow factor!

I have paper pieced the dress on this image and coloured the rest with my whispers and watercolour pencils. DP is form DCWV christmas stack, brown CS has been embossed with spots and dots folder. Legless brads are from craft work cards and the sentiment from SU Best Yet set which I got from the wonderful Jules!

Sorry about the colour of this picture, it looks much brighter and better in the flesh!

Although I've been at work today I've still been able to enjoy the sunshine, thats the beauty of being a district nurse, I get to be out and about all day! Not so good in winter though! :-)

Hope you are all well!

Just Magnolia challenge card!

This is my entry for this weeks Just Magnolia Challenge. Its a new challenge that has just started this week so if you haven't already, pop over and take a look at the fab sketch this week. The DT are absolutely amazing, so much talent within one little blog!

My cards have been quite simple lately so for me this was a bit of a challenge to use more than 2 layers! This tilda image was kindly sent to me by Sarah and I love this Tilda with her sunflower, so thanks Sarah. I coloured her with my whispers and distress inks. CS is coredinations and I have distressd it with my emery board and distress inks, spotty paper is from papermania. I have cut the circle with my nesties, embossed with divine swirls embosing folder and distressed again with inks! Ribbon is from my stash, I think I salvaged it from a box of chocolates?? Flowers are prima; button, thread and charm are from my stash. The sentiment is from a see D set.

Here is a closer view of the flower embellishments and Tilda!

I really enjoyed taking part in this challenge and hope to take part in some more. The only problem is I don't have any Magnolia stamps (I know, don't keel over in shock!) so I will have to rely on the images I have previously been sent. I'm sure they will keep me going for at least a year though! :-)

Well what a glorious day it has been, it really feels like summer is almost here! I hope you have all had a good day and have made the most of the wonderful sunshine!

Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

Monkey business!

Here is the card I made for my BIL's birthday! I just love this changito birthday image that I got from The Glitter Pot. I have used it so much, paticularly for male birthday cards.

I have coloured the image with my whispers pens and distressed around the edges with my Tim Holtz idtress inks. Paper is from the Basic Grey Granola pad. CS is coredinations. The buttons are from my stash and I have weaved some brown thread throught the centre. Name was created with my Dymo machine. I really like how this card turned out!

I hope you all have a great weekend, what ever you're up to! I'm not working this weekend! Yay! So I'm meeting up with some friends tomorrow night, who I haven't seen for almost 2 years, and then on sunday it's back to the uni work. Only 5 more weeks and then all my course work will be handed in and then my life can return to some sort of normality!

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it!

Lovely Leanne Ellis!

Morning all!
I just adore these leanne ellis design stamps by Sugar Nellie at Funky kits! I wanted to make a card that was different to all the soft pastel colour cards I've been making of late so this is what I came up with!

For this card I have used the 'talking to the birds stamp' and just cut out the girl with my craft knife and added her with 3D foam. Coloured with my whispers pens and a pearl adhesive gem added to the centre of the flower in her hair. CS is coredinations and I have run the red CS through my cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder. Sentiment is from a clear HOTP set. Adhesive star gems are from papermania.

I should be at uni today but I don't have any lectures so am going to have a relaxing day with my wonderful fella before I have to go back to work tomorrow!

Hope you all have a great day whatever you're up to. Thanks for taking the time to stop by and leave me a comment!

My first WOJ card!

This is a card I have made for my friends birthday, and I used the stamp from the blog candy I won back in February from Bev. It's the only WOJ stamp that I own and I love it, so useful for birthday's and so playful and cute!

The image is 'Henry celebrating Mouse' stamp from WOJ. I coloured him with my whispers pens. Cut out with square nesties. CS is cordinations, spotty paper is a leftover scap that I had from a papermania pack. I made the flower embellishements using offcuts of the CS and paper, punched out with retro flower x-cut punch, distressed with Tim Holtz distress ink and an emery board. Centre's of flowers are legless brads from craftwork cards and I have added glossy accents. Sentiment is from SU Sincere Salutations, cut out with oval nesties and edges distressed with ink!

I hope you're all enjoying your easter BH weekend! I've been at work all weekend and let me tell you it was a nightmare weekend! Oh well, got the day off today for some much needed R & R!

Thanks for popping by!

Easter greetings!

Here is the one and only easter card I have made this year. I've had very little time for crafting lately so I just made the one for my neice who really loves crafting herself, so I thought she would appreciate it! Not really sure that Ducks are considered appropriate easter animals, oh well nevermind!

The image is duck in boots from Sugar Nellie at Funky Kits and I coloured it with my whispers pens. CS is from the coredinations range and the paper is from the Basic Grey 'Offbeat' pad.
Circle for the sentiment cut with my nesties and sentiment created with a mixture of doodlebug rub on's and a see D's sentiment that I have half masked off! Heart gems from papermania!

I spent this afternoon with my family as I am working all weekend. Won't mind so much if the weather stays as rubbish as today! I hope you are all enjoying the BH weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

New Home!

My best friend has recently moved into a new house and so it was the perfect excuse for me to get out my craft stash (in between studying) and make her a card.

The image is from Elzybells and I coloured it with my whispers pens before matting onto yellow & brown CS. The striped paper is from the Basic Grey 'Offbeat' pad. Sentiment was created using doodlebug rub on's. A nice quick and simple card. This seems to be my style of late!

Hope you all enjoyed the sunshine today and are looking forward to the Easter BH weekend, if you're lucky enough not to be working (unfortunately I am!).

'Luvvy'

I adore these Leanne ellis designs! They are adorable and so easy to work with. I got mine from sugar nellie and I can't seem to stop using them!!

My style at the moment has swayed towards more CAS! I love michelle's cards and I find her blog and cards so inspiring!

I have coloured my Leanne ellis 'luvvy' stamped image with my trusty whispers pens, cut her out and mounted onto the spotty DCWV paper with 3D foam. Small pearl adhesive gem added to the flower in her hair. All paper and CS is DCWV. Scalloped circle cut with my nesties. Sentiment from a hero arts acrylic set.

Well I finished one of my essay's yesterday so I am going to have the day off studying today and hopefully do a bit of crafting in between cleaning and food shopping!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend whatever you're up to and enjoy the sunshine!

For my friend...

..Rosa who is moving back to Spain! She has been living in England for almost 12 years, and originally came over to improve her English. She liked it so much she stayed, fell in love and married an englishman and had a baby boy. But now the time has come that she wants to move back to Spain with her family, and who can blame her! I will miss her sooooo much and wanted to make her a card that showed how much I care for our friendship rather than a goobye / good luck!

The image is from sugar nellie and is a leanne ellis design 'luvvy' which I adore. Coloured with my whispers pens, cut out and stuck to CS with 3D foam. The scallops the the bottom of the card was created with my SU scalloped border punch. The sentiment is from SU 'Best Yet' set, cut out with my nestie square. I have bought all my SU products from Jules who is just the best so head over to her blog to have a look at the latest catalouge! CS is coredinations and the dotty embossed borders are from a cuttlebug border embossing folders set.

Thank you to everyone who has sent me messages of congrautlations on my engagement, and for all those of you who have asked here is a picture of my engagement ring.

I love it! It's a princess cut diamond set in platinum. My wonderful boyfriend picked it all by himself, he has such good taste (well I think so!), bless him!

Hope you are all well. I'm still plodding on with my assignments. Only 7 more weeks and they'll all be handed in and my life can return to some sort of normality!

Big hugs, Vicky x

Dads birthday!

Hi everyone.

I managed to find some time to make my dad a birthday card and thought I'd do a quick post and share it with you.

I don't often use DL card blanks but this image was a little too long for a square (which is my favourite!). Image is changuito thankyou stamp. I masked out the thankyou that is in the middle of the flower head and used a HOTP birthday sentiment instead. Coloured with my whispers pens. CS is DCWV and paper is K & Co Hopskotch pad. White ribbon is dovecraft, patterned brads from my stash, and 'dad' was created from white CS using my olivia cuttlebug alphabet set.

It's my day off today so I'm going to spend most of today catching up with some of my uni coursework. But I'm taking a break this afternoon to go and pick up my engagement ring from the jewellers! It's had to be resized and I haven't been able to wear it properly yet so I am soooo excited to be picking it up!

Hope you are all well on this blustery day!

Big hugs, Vicky x

So sorry.....

..I've not been around much lately. You'll all be happy to know that I haven't dropped off the edge of the earth! Lol! Well, I got back from a wonderful 2 weeks in Kenya on monday night! I had the most fantastic time, it was absolute bliss!! I celebrated my 30th Birthday whilst I was there and was also extremely shocked but equally delighted that my gorgeous boyfriend proposed to me!! So I have returned home with a lovely sparkling diamond ring and a wonderful fiance! I am so happy and feel so lucky!!

Back crashing down to reality today though as I am soldiering on with with my uni essays! They all have to be in by the 21st May, so looking forward to after then so I can get back to my beloved crafting and my blogging friends. Sorry for being so rubbish of late, not getting around to see you all and leaving comments. I promise I will try and make some time to pop by and say hi really soon!

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by recently and left me some lovely comments. It really means a lot to me!

I hope you are all well and happily crafting away!

Not much time for my beloved card making over the next month or so though, so I apologise in advance for not being around much. I will try and pop by and see your lovely cards in between work and studying!

Have a good weekend all!

Birthday Bear!

This is the card I have made for my neice's birthday next week!

The image was kindly sent to me by Stacey and coloured using my whispers pens. I added glossy accents to the balloon. The DP are from the DCWV chistmas stack (very versatile!), matted onto brown CS. The sentiment is from a HOTP clear stamp set, matted onto a nestie scalloped circle. The ribbon along the bottom of the image was salvaged from a new item of clothing I bought!

I hope it's as well received as the money that will be inside it! Lol!

Well its supposed to be snowing again tonight! I hope it wont be too bad as I've got to venture down the M62 to Huddersfield tommorrow to hand it one of my essay's, the deadline is 3pm tomorrow so I hope I make it in time!

I have just noticed that I have reached my 10,000 hits! Wow! I want to say a huge thank you to everyone who visits my blog and leaves me such wonderful, thoughtful, kind comments. I really appreciate it! I am hoping to be doing a blog candy to celebrate I just need to get some candy organised first so watch this space!

Friday Sketchers meets Elzybells!

I have used the fab sketch over at friday sketchers this week to make this card.

I coloured my Elybells image in with whispers pens and paper pieced her dress. The DP are from DCWV. I ran the brown CS through the cuttlebug with the swiss dots folder. Buttons and ribbon are from my stash and the sentiment is from Hero Arts!

Hope you're all safe and sound at home after our day of snow! It's been a nightmare here in Leeds. Unfortunately I had to go to work, but we cancelled all our non urgent visits due to the bad road conditions.

Take care out there everyone!

Double challenge Valentine's card!

This is the Valentine's card that have made for my bf. I have used the sketch from papertake weekly's challenge (although I have rotated the sketch, I hope you don't mind) and I am also entering it into Cute Card Thursday's challenge which is to make a Valentine's themed card!

The image was kindly sent to me by one of my friends on the do crafts forum. My bf loved this image when he saw it so I though it was perfect for his Valentine's card. I have coloured it in with my whispers pens and distressed the edges with my Tim Holtz distress inks. I cut the scalloped frame myself with my SU scalloped edge punch, so please excuse the uneven scallops at the corners! My next nestie purchases are the rectangular one's (I have the circle, oval and square, typically I needed the rectangles for this image!). The papers are from Basic Grey Archaic pad. Sentiments are from SU best yet set and Hero Arts. The felt hearts were given to me by my mum. They came on a ribbon of hearts. I have simply cut the ribbon sections off to make individual hearts. The centers are paper punched hearts, distressed with my inks and glossy accents added to them.

I hope he likes it!

I had a very productive day yesterday. I made 5 cards as well as doing 600 words on my essay. So I have plenty of cards to show you in the forthcoming week or so! Hope you are all having a good weekend.

CAS....

..that's Clean and simple! That's the challenge over on the sugar nellie blog. I used one of my new Leanne Ellis stamps. I just love these stamps! If you like the look of them as well you can find them for sale at Funky Kits! I quite like how this cards turned out! Make's a change from all the layers and layers of paper, CS, ribbon and flowers I normally use!

I used my SU scalloped border punch to create the scalloped edge along the bottom of the card. I also scalloped some pink CS and stuck this to the inside of the card blank. The dot embossing was done using my cuttlebug border embossing folders. My lovely new Leanne ellis 'Luvvy' stamped image was coloured in with my whispers pens, before being cut out and added to the CS with 3D foam. I added glossy accents to the heart. The sentiment is from my new SU 'Best Yet' stamp set which Jules very kindly got for me! Thanks so much Jules I love it!

Well I hope you all have a very nice weekend. A pretty uneventfull one planned for me. A few lie in's followed by some more work on my uni essays!

Sketch Saturday card!

Here is my entry for this weeks sketch saturday challenge!

I can't decide whether to give it to my grandma of my auntie as their birthday's are both in a few weeks, within 2 days of each other and they both like cats! Oh dilema!! :-)

The papers are papermania and basic grey sugared. Brown 'legless brads' are from the toffee treats bag available from craftwork cards and I have added glossy accents to them. Image is penny black and has been coloured with my distress inks. Matted onto brown CS. The scallops were created with my SU scallop border punch. The sentiment is from my new SU Sincere Salutations set which I got from Jules. I can highly recommend SU products, especially the stamps. They are such fabulous quality and great value for money. Head over to Jules' blog to browse the latest SU catalouge!

My boyfriend said he doesn't like this card. It made me pretty mad as I liked it until he said that. Now I'm not so sure!

Hope you are all well! I'm having a day off of studying, hence 3 posts in one day!! :-)

Birthday Bella!

Evening all. Just a quick post tonight. Here is the card I made for my SIL's birthday.

I love this birthday bella image. It's one of my favourites. Coloured in with my whispers pens and glamour dust added to highlight. Matted onto pink and black CS. The background black CS is coredinations black magic. I ran it through my bug with the swiss dots folder and distressed it with my emery board so you can see the pink dot's better! The flowers are both from making memories. The sentiment is from my inkadoo clear cupcake set.

To all those who have given me awrads thank you so much! I know I have been a bit rubbish lately and haven't got around to popping them on here, but I promise I will when things settle down a bit I will catch up!!

Hope you are all well.

You've passed!

Evening all. I hope you are well. I have managed to make a card in between writing my essay's (well you need a break every now and again!). I made this card for my SIL to congratulate her on recently passing her driving test.

The image was sent to me in a swap by Sal, so thank you! Coloured with my whispers pens. I added buttons and legless brads (from craftwork cards) to the wheels! Papers are from Basic Grey Sugared stack. The red/pink CS was embossed with spots and dots cuttlebug folder. Sentiment was created with doodlebug rub on's. She should have received it by now so hope she liked it!

Well back to the uni work for now. I hope to be back really soon with some more creations to show you all!

Take care, big hugs, Vicky x

Brother's Birthday Card!!

Well here it is, my first card of 2009! I'm really busy with uni work at the minute but managed to find a spare hour to make my brother's birthday card (super organised as it's 2 weeks away yet!).

Image is by stampendous 'changito happy birthday'. I adore this image and have used it lot's for male birthday's since I bought it! Coloured with my new Tim Holtz distress inks. Papers are from BG Archaic and Granola. Legless brads from craftwork cards. The sentiment was created on my dymo machine. I added 3D gloss to the frame on the image and to the legless brads. I hope he likes it!

Sorry I've not been around much, and not likely to be over the next few weeks, my assignments for uni are calling (unfortunately) so it leaves little time for craft! :-( I will try and get around all your wonderful blogs when I can!

Hope you are all well and settling into the new year!
